About J-STAR-BR

J-STAR (Japanese Scientists To Advance Rheumatology) was established in 2019 as a subcommittee of the Basic Research Promotion Committee of the Japan College of Rheumatology (JCR), with the aim of promoting basic research in rheumatology. In fiscal year 2023, J-STAR was reorganized as a standing committee of the JCR and currently consists of the following three subcommittees:

- J-STAR-BR (Basic Research)
- J-STAR-CR (Clinical Research)
- J-STAR-IR (International Relations)

Through activities in these three areas, J-STAR aims to foster the next generation of rheumatologists and early-career researchers, promote collaboration between clinicians and basic scientists, and strengthen international scientific exchange.

The mission of J-STAR-BR is to promote networking among researchers engaged in basic research related to rheumatology. By building and expanding this research network, J-STAR-BR seeks to provide opportunities for the next generation of rheumatologists to become involved in basic research, facilitate collaborative research between clinicians and basic scientists, and foster new research initiatives and collaborations among researchers in Japan and abroad.

Through its website, the Basic Research Conference, and other activities, J-STAR-BR aims to create opportunities for active interaction and scientific exchange among researchers and clinicians interested in basic research in rheumatology.
