Greetings from the Chairperson
of J-STAR-IR

It is with great honor and enthusiasm that I extend my greetings as the Chairperson of J-STAR-IR (Japanese Scientists to Advance Rheumatology - International Relationship). In an era when global collaboration in medical research and clinical practice is more important than ever, I am proud to be part of this transformative initiative that unites young rheumatologists from Japan.

Established in 2023, J-STAR-IR has a clear and ambitious mission: to foster relationships and collaboration at both academic and personal levels with rheumatologists from diverse backgrounds and countries. Additionally, we aim to demonstrate the presence and impact of young Japanese rheumatologists at international settings.

In the spirit of this mission, our activities focus on three main pillars:

1.Organizing International
 Exchange Sessions:

J-STAR-IR members are deeply involved in the planning and executing international exchange sessions at the annual scientific meeting of the Japan College of Rheumatology (JCR). These sessions provide a platform for young researchers to engage with their global peers and share insights that will help advance our field.

2.Active Participation
 in Global Platforms:

J-STAR-IR members actively participate in international conferences, webinars, and events organized by APLAR, ACR, EULAR and similar bodies. Through these activities, we aim to create opportunities for collaborative learning and enhance the international visibility of young Japanese rheumatologists.

3.Building Connections with
 Other Young Rheumatology
 Communities:

J-STAR-IR members are committed to strengthening connections with other young rheumatology communities. These interactions are invaluable for advancing both personal and collective scientific progress. We encourage all members to participate in these international networks.

We contribute to the global scientific discourse by leading sessions at conferences, participating in collaborative research, and championing new ideas. Currently, J-STAR-IR has 42 active members. As we continue to grow, we expand our network and collaborate with young rheumatologists worldwide. We look forward to meeting and engaging with colleagues around the world, learning from each other, and contributing to the development of rheumatology.

The essence of J-STAR-IR lies in action, not just participation. Let us act with passion and purpose, demonstrating the true potential of young rheumatologists to the world.
